Bawaal: Varun Dhawan reveals why he didn't talk to Janhvi Kapoor on the first month of shoot
During the initial month of filming for his upcoming movie Bawaal, Varun Dhawan intentionally avoided talking to Janhvi Kapoor. He further added that his co-star perceived it as a personal matter.
Recently in an interview with a leading news portal, Varun shared that during the first month of shooting, he purposely kept his distance from his co-star to avoid becoming too friendly too quickly. He believed that this would create a certain tension between them that would be beneficial for their scenes together. The director, Nitesh, was supportive of this approach. After 20 days, Varun explained his strategy to his co-star, who initially took it personally but eventually understood. Varun admits that he did this selfishly but believes that it ultimately helped both of them and added an interesting element to their on-screen relationship.
Talking about the leads, Nitesh said in the same interview, "I didn't really notice. I honestly don't mind which schools you guys (Varun and Janhvi) are from, as long as I get my shot. I think I got that, yeah."
Bawaal stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor and is set in the backdrop of World War 2. The romantic film is helmed by Nitesh Tiwari and will premiere on OTT on July 21.
