HOUSTON — Intuitive Machines’ first lunar lander is complete and ready to ship for a launch next month as executives say they’re cautiously optimistic about the prospects of a successful landing. The company unveiled its completed Nova-C lander at its new headquarters here Oct. 3, a day after completing a pre-ship review that confirmed that the spacecraft is ready to be transported to the Kennedy Space Center for launch on a Falcon 9 on a mission designated IM-1.

A small plane crashed next to an interstate highway in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday night, killing all five people on board, police said. The single-engine plane crashed close to a Costco store on the eastbound lanes of the I-40, near the Nashville suburb of Charlotte Park, just before 8 p.m. The Federal Aviation Administration was on the scene Monday night, and investigations from the National Transportation Safety Board were due to arrive Tuesday, police said.
